Opportunities in New Mexico
Interpreter positions open at the New Mexico School for the Deaf.
Hello!
We are happy to announce that we have position openings for both an entry-level interpreter and a certified interpreter at the New Mexico School for the Deaf, for the 2019-2020 school year.
We will be accepting applications until 5:00 pm on Friday, May 24th.
In order to apply, you will need to submit the following items:
- Letter of interest
- Resume
- Copy of NM Interpreter License or proof of payment
- *PED license required upon hire.
Additionally you will need to fill
out a New Mexico School for the Deaf job application. This application can be

Although the Interpreter 1 and 2 positions may look like ASL/English only positions at first glance, trilingual interpreters are encouraged to apply!
The Interpreter 1 position (formally known as NMSD Intern) offers mentoring and the chance to grow professionally within a rich ASL environment.
The Interpeter 2 position offers a chance to work in a variety of challenging and engaging settings as well as to mentor newer interpreters in order to help grow our profession.

Nos alegra anunciar que témenos dos posiciones disponibles para un intérprete principiante y para un intérprete certificado en la Escuela para Sordos de Nuevo México para el año escolar 2019-2020.
Se aceptarán solicitudes hasta las 5:00 de la tarde el viernes, 24 de mayo.
Para solicitar el puesto, favor de remitir los siguientes documentos:
- Carta de motivación
- currículum
- Copia de licencia de intérprete de Nuevo México o comprobante de pago
- *Licencia de PED es requerida al ser contratado/a
Adicionalmente tendrá que completar una solicitud de empleo de la

Aunque las posiciones de interprete 1 y 2 parezcan ser posiciones de ASL e inglés, ¡se alienta la solicitud de intérpretes trilingües!
La posición de Interprete 1 (anteriormente llamada Pasante de NMSD) brinda tutoría y la oportunidad de crecer profesionalmente en un ambiente enriquecido por el ASL.
La posición de Interprete 2 brinda la oportunidad de trabajar en varios ambientes estimulantes y desafiantes y servir como tutor para interpretes novatos o novatas con la meta de mejorar la profesión.
