Mano a Mano recognizes National Hispanic Heritage Month

As National Hispanic Heritage Month ends, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize that Mano a Mano would not exist if there was not a vast and wholly diverse Hispanic/Latino/Latinx population in the United States spread throughout all areas of our nation both urban and rural as well as our constituents in Puerto Rico.  We serve and represent a minority of a minority and we want to take this time to acknowledge that our work does not exist in a vacuum that’s separated from the intersectionality of the various communities we are striving to represent: Deaf and Hard of Hearing; Hispanic/Latino/Latinx; Spanish Speakers; Sign Language Interpreters; and countless others. I also want to take the time to encourage our members to become involved with Mano by running for a seat on our board in the upcoming election.  You should have already received a letter from our Nominations committee, but if you didn’t please visit our website or reach out to nominations@manoamanoinc.org by October 25th to get more information!

Please give the following video a watch featuring members of the Mano a Mano executive board expressing why our Hispanic heritage is important to us! https://youtu.be/30Be8ZpdfHY
